As a psychologist and marriage and family therapist I bring the unique perspectives of each of these disciplines to my clinical practice. I'm trained in a variety of models, but the overarching framework of my practice is contextual theory. My work with couples focuses on the contextual premise that committed relationships (whether gay or straight) always benefit when partners actively value fair give and take.

I've treated distressed couples for over 30 years, and routinely find that most relationship conflicts are resolvable when each person feels considered and fairly treated. Even when the facts of a situation don't change, when spouses experience mutual consideration, trust is restored.

I have extensive experience with anxiety, depression, bi-polar illness; behavioral: health, fertility, cancer-related concerns, substance abuse; all in the treatment of individuals, couples, families with children, and adults and their parents. My therapeutic conviction arises not only from my professional training, but also from my own life and primary relationships.
