Based upon the latest scientific research on what makes marriages succeed, I provide couples the tools to break destructive relationship patterns and create the marriage they most deeply desire. Much of my approach with couples is based upon the Gottman Method (additional information available at my website), and Solution-Focused Therapy. I take a common sense, practical, and directive approach to my work that provides you with a clear road map to where you want to go.

After clarifying your relationship issues, the next step is to help you create a more compelling vision for your marriage. Vision defines your deepest held desires, hopes, dreams, and values for your marriage. I have found that the vision clarification process an essential component because it creates motivation, hope, and the commitment to making things better. Speaking from professional and personal experience (married 11 years), I know that defining your vision as a couple is hard work yet extremely rewarding and helpful.

I approach my work with dedication, passion, and a deeply held belief that change is possible when two people commit themselves to the work. Living through the pain of a broken marriage takes its toll on everyone and yet many do not seek help. How unfortunate to suffer through this kind of existence! Change is possible, and ironically, doing "the work", usually involves less pain than remaining in the status quo. One of my favorite lines from Robert Frost sums up the reality of marriage counseling best: "The best way out is always through."

I have over 13 years of experience as a therapist, specializing in marriage counseling. Upon request, I can incorporate a faith-based approach to marriage counseling. I encourage you to call or go to my website (www.intentionalliving365.com) for more information.
